I'm John Hanacek, a designer, entrepreneur, consultant, artist and researcher working at the intersection of new forms of computation, creativity and human augmentation.
I work as the XR Interaction Designer at where I enhance the existing application through expanded XR features and UX improvements. I am the primary designer bringing a next generation of the Nanome application for cutting edge headsets of today and the future.
I obtained an MA degree from Georgetown University in , and a BA degree from UC San Diego in Political Science.
I have accrued extensive skills and experiences working at cross sections of strategy consulting, design, photography, videography, computer graphics and spatial computing. I can see the big picture while focusing on details.‍
As a designer I have worked on web, app and AR/VR/XR experiences across multiple markets, with a special focus on collaboration and creativity tools and training simulations.
I have co-founded and served as the first CEO of an ambitious startup with a company mission to improve healthcare quality and accessibility through design, and integration of frontier technologies.
I am a co-founder and board member of a non-profit 'do tank' fostering collaboration and empowering the next generation of changemakers through our video contest and ongoing Dream Hubs led by teens.
‍I have cofounded a building solutions startup, CanCoverIt, and brought products to market.
I have first responder experience as a California State Parks Beach Lifeguard, where I learned the importance of instant action at time of need, and how to keep vigilant patience until that moment.
